Dallas Paleo Regular Meeting

  • Wed, February 10, 2016
  • 7:30 PM
  • Brookhaven College, Farmers Branch, TX

The next meeting of the Dallas Paleontological Society will be Wednesday, February 10th at 7:30 pm, at Brookhaven College Geotechnology Institute.  Our speaker will be Dr. Robert Finkelman of the UT Dallas Department of Geosciences, who will speak on “Coal in Texas: Past, Present and Future: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”.  Dr. Finkelman holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Maryland, and is a internationally recognized expert on coal chemistry and the environmental and health effects of coal.  Before teaching and research at UT Dallas, Dr. Finkelman worked for the US Geological Survey and Exxon Production Research.  In addition to coal being full of fossils, we should all be informed about coal and its role in our energy needs, environment, and health.  We hope to see you at this interesting meeting!
