Whiskey Bridge Field Trip

Whiskey Bridge Saturday, September 24th, 9 am.  This is an open fieldtrip.

Located on Hwy 21 west of Bryan Texas.  You will be searching the Stone City Formation for beautiful examples of Eocene Age invertebrate , including gastropods, pelecypods and squid material.   Shark teeth and other interesting fossils can also be found.  You will be exploring a bluff only a couple hundred  feet from where you park.  The fossils are easily recovered and a rock hammer or tool for prying is all that’s needed. I also suggest bringing a few pieces of  tin foil to wrap more delicate fines,  .

Directions:  Take hwy 21 west from Bryan about 10 miles.  You will cross the little Brazos a mile before coming to the Brazos.  You will see a RR bridge on your right and a parking area right after the bridge.  Park there and you can walk down to the hunting area.  Contact information, Polly pollym@airmail.net    903 916-0083
