The Dallas Paleontological Society is hosting (for Members Only) a trip to the Kiamichi formation in Grayson County, TX on November 6 starting at 9:00 AM. The site is on a private ranch with an electronic gate code.

Registration will begin Saturday morning at midnight October 29 and go until November 5 or until the event is full. Registration is restricted to 20 people at the request of the owner. This will be limited to Members Only.

If you register and are unable to make it please cancel your registration here, online no later than November 4 to enable any people on the waitlist to have adequate notice.

We will meet at the gas station on the northwest corner of highway 75 and FM 91 just south of the Red River. The address is 4411 N. Highway 75 Denison, TX.

The majority of the fossils will require extraction using a sledgehammer and chisel. As such this trip is not recommended for children under 12 years old. Most of the fossils are Oxytropidoceras, Idohamites and a few Elobiceras. There are also Waconella wacoensis brachiopods as well as a number of bivalves. There are also Macraster echinoids from the Duck Creek Formation present. On our last visit there someone found an Ichthyosaur vertebra on the trip.
